Running Accomplishments:

I'm a 40+ "used to be"...

7 years ago had BAD case of frostbite and nearly lost my feet.  Stopped running (obviously) & gained LOTS of weight.  Started jogging again when local community club needed a coach and found out that exercise helped to increase circulation in my affected areas as well as decreased overall weight which helped to take pressure off my feet.  Still deal with neuropathy and Reynauds--but do not take ANY pain meds to manage the pain.  Gotta' love running!!!

SO, any past accomplishments do not matter....only that I can get ut the door almost every day and run another run.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Currently building base to lead up to traditional Marathon

Goals:

Have not yet decided on race schedule for this year, but am shifting focus from ultras to trying to nail down some shorter speedy races and a tradtional marathon.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running for as long as I can & share the knowledge that God has graced me with by continuing to coach as well.

Personal:

Happy New Year!

My legs were a bit fried from my 100 mile week last week, so took it pretty easy today.  Drove up to the Boulder bubble to get a run in with Brad Hudson's training group.  He currently has like 13 Olympic Trials Qualifiers (marathon) getting ready for the big game in 2 weeks.  I hopped in with the ones that are not as we were trying to just get our long run done.

We changed venues at the last second tho, and whereas I usually have a potty stop 2 miles in, that was not the case today.  Between having ridiculously tired legs, and a semi-urgent potty issue, I hopped out of the long run to help with the water stop for the OTQ'ers.  They were doing criterion style laps to emulate what they will be running in Houston.  The dudes were paired up and ran 3.5 miles in around 17 min (sometimes going 5:04 pace!) and then taking a few minute moderate jog rest x 4 laps!!  I kept messing up the water hand offs tho, and was sure that Trent Brinney was going to poke me in the eye when he was finished (Trent finished 4th at the trials 4 years ago and was the runner-up for the Olympic Team, so I was very honored to have the opportunity!)  The guys looked great as Patrick Rizzo, Tyler McCandless, Trent and Kenyan Neuman tore it up!

Video'd a piece of the workout and will post to RunCOlo.com when I finish my intervews with some of the COloradan OTQ'rs.

SO, my run was 5.59 at a moderate 7:32 average pace. Hoping to get to the trails tomorrow and get my long run in, ultra style!
