Running Accomplishments:

I'm a 40+ "used to be"...

7 years ago had BAD case of frostbite and nearly lost my feet.  Stopped running (obviously) & gained LOTS of weight.  Started jogging again when local community club needed a coach and found out that exercise helped to increase circulation in my affected areas as well as decreased overall weight which helped to take pressure off my feet.  Still deal with neuropathy and Reynauds--but do not take ANY pain meds to manage the pain.  Gotta' love running!!!

SO, any past accomplishments do not matter....only that I can get ut the door almost every day and run another run.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Currently building base to lead up to traditional Marathon

Goals:

Have not yet decided on race schedule for this year, but am shifting focus from ultras to trying to nail down some shorter speedy races and a tradtional marathon.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running for as long as I can & share the knowledge that God has graced me with by continuing to coach as well.

Personal:

Son:  Drew...currently runs for Adam's State!!

Currently Coaching:  Revolution Running

Day Job:  St. Joe's Veteran's Home

Easy recovery run. Went to Bear Creek Park after dark and ran up to the town proper of Morrison and back.  Gorgeous night with little to no wind (which for here is huge lately!!)  Only minimal night time creatures out and some boy scouts camping in the park.

Super easy songfest with Dan “the Painter” Spale in Bear Creek Park.  Explored some of the trails. Temps reached 84 degrees and no wind.  Absolutely perfect day to run!

Hi-Line canal with Ashley T. Meant to do a 3 hour run.  Started in the morn with cool temps and no wind.  Ashley only had 70 minutes to do as she is tapering for Boston, so went out nice and easy in 7:50’s.  On our way back to her car, wind started kicking and the sky began to change in an ominous fashion.  Dropped Ash back at her car and went back out. At 11:00, it began to rain and by 11:20 it was full on snowing.  What a change from the 84 degrees from yesterday!

Bailed soon after that since I already got in 17 yesterday…

When I got home, took a pretty pic of it snowing in the sun (don’t know how to download…) and 10 minutes later, my neighbors were jumping in their pool!  Crazy Colorado weather!!

Arch still not feeling 100% so am going to make an appointment to see if I can get some dry needling done.  Can still run, just don’t want to risk injury by changing my form to accommodate.

Confirmed travel plans with Squirrel!!  Burt will be so jealous…can’t wait to spend some QT time with squirrel in Illinois…AND talked to our IT dept and they are going to look at my computer so *maybe* I can start blogging again….
